A prayer for the end of the project:
God of vision and hope,
we thank you for our church building;
a place of prayer and pilgrimage,
witnessing to your love and presence in our midst.
We thank you for guiding us through to the completion of the building project.
Keep us united in vision and focus as we celebrate this milestone, and grant us your peace.
in the name of Jesus Christ our Cornerstone.
Amen.
Laura to leave Holy Trinity
All who attend worship at Holy Trinity, and all who listen to broadcasts of our services whether at home or from hospital, will welcome the good news that the building work has very nearly been completed. We, therefore, feel great gratitude to our Vicar, the Revd. Laura Biron-Scott, whose faith, prayerfulness, perseverance, dedication and capacity to get along with other people, have guided us safely to so happy a conclusion.
However, one of Laura’s predecessors at Holy Trinity used to say that the reward for good work is more work, and that proves to be true in Laura’s case as well. Laura will, in fact, be leaving the Parish at the end of November to take on a role of ministry in an academic environment as Chaplain of Balliol College, Oxford. So our joy is tinged with sadness at her departure, but a sadness relieved by the thought that she will remain close by and we still might hope to see her from time to time.
We ask for God’s blessing upon Laura and we pray for her ministry in her new calling.
The Parish Office Will reopen on 24th September at 8.30am.
Tots Mornings open to all babies, toddlers, and preschoolers on Tuesdays in term time in the Coach House on Tuesdays. Stay & Play will be 10-11am and Story & prayers 11am – 11.15am. No need to book just come along. All are welcome.

Fair Trade Sale
There will be a FairTrade sale in church after the 10am service on Sunday 29th September. Begin prepare your shopping list now as this will probably be the last sale in church as the FT shop in Headington which supplies our goods is closing in January.
Autumn Fete 12th October
After the celebrations for our wonderful new extension, we will be looking forward to the Autumn Fete. It is going to be really important to try to raise as much money as we can to help with finalising the extension. We would ask you to donate only items which can be sold, so nothing half-used, in poor condition or out of date. We would be happy to receive good quality books, toiletries, toys, nearly new gifts, plants and cakes. Other donations of wine for the Water to Wine, an item for the Tombola or a £2 donation to buy a prize, would be welcomed. Last year’s Gift Aid claim raised £225 so we would urge you to complete a Gift Aid form with your donations. It makes a real difference. Do come along with family, friends and neighbours to enjoy this happy fundraising event.
Fete committee: Derek and Margaret Taylor (765051), Mike and Lisa (768077), Linda & Howard (765003), Janet Foot (762450)

Hearing Loop Update
Our loop system had to be disconnected during the work on the west end of church, we are really pleased that the contractors have found a way to reinstate it and it is now functioning. Please have a chat with a welcomer or one of the sound team if you are having problems.
This week’s Eco Tips
With autumn soon upon us, and concern about maintaining warmth without boosting energy consumption and costs, now could be the time to check the depth of your loft insulation. The current recommended depth of mineral or glass wool is 270mm. Apparently, any more than that would give little or no additional benefit Hilary Rollin, Eco Group
Save the Date
Continuing the watery theme initiated by Tom Crook, the Autumn Eco Talks Series begins on Wednesday October 23rd when water engineer David Ramsbottom will talk on ‘Floods, causes, alleviation and complications’, followed by Judy Webb of Friends of Lye Valley on Thursday November 14th. Both talks will be in the Coach House, starting at 7.30, with refreshments beforehand. Hilary Rollin, Eco Group.
