New Vicar

Letter from our new Vicar

From the Wardens:

The wardens are very pleased to announce, that following interviews that took place on 3rd December, we have been able to appoint a new Vicar. Her name is Revd. Dr. Laura Biron-Scott and she will be coming to us from Kidlington, so not too far away! The Bishop will formally install Laura on June 18th. We are very excited by the appointment and look forward to welcoming Laura and her family in May. Please hold them in your prayers as they prepare for this next step in Laura’s ministry and the changes that will occur for her family.

One of the questions asked of the candidates was, ‘What are the ingredients for making a healthy church?’. You might like to think what your answer might have been, but in my view one of the qualities of a healthy church is a congregation that moves forward together with a common aim. Tim left us with structures in place that have enabled us to continue ministry at Holy Trinity relatively smoothly, mainly due to the many people who have quietly continued their roles and activities within the parish whilst often juggling family and work responsibilities. We are very fortunate that we have within the parish, a small army of retired clergy and chaplains who are giving generously of their time to enable services to take place as usual. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Rob Gilbert and Joan Walding who are shouldering the main bulk of planning and execution of services, and ensuring that parish ministry is available to us when we need it. Thank you, we are very grateful to you all.
