The flowers in church today have been given in memory of a much loved son and brother, Samuel James Day, from his Mum, Dad and sisters Lydia and Phoebe.
Christmas Craft Market is being held today in Quarry Village Hall from 11am-6pm. Gifts, Crafts, Raffle with local stall holders. Refreshments will be available. Please come along and support, as all the money goes to the upkeep of the Village Hall. You may even find a few Christmas Presents there!
Remembrance Sunday
Our parish Eucharist at 10am next Sunday November 9th will include an Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial at 10.45am, and we look forward to welcoming members of 7th Headington Brownies.
The Parish Office new opening times will be as follows: Monday 8.30- 1pm, Wednesday 8.30-12.30pm, Thursdays 8.30-9.30- 11.30-12.30. Notices deadline is now Monday 6pm.

For those of you that have signed up to join us on the coach to St John’s Bodicote please note it will leave promptly from The Coach House at 6pm for the service at 7.30pm.The cost for the trip is £10 per person so please can you pay CASH to Margaret Taylor (Church Warden) as soon as possible but definitely by Today 2nd November as we have to pay the coach hire up front. The November meeting will be on Friday 7th November at 2.30 pm at 3 Barton Road, Headington. We meditate for half an hour on a passage provided by one of us and then have tea/coffee and biscuits. New members are very welcome. Sheila Allcock 769630
Community Café every Tuesday 9.30 – 11.30am in the meeting room in church. An intergenerational space for parents/carers to spend time with their younger ones, meet up with people of all ages over a cup of tea/ coffee etc Toys available for preschool age children and toddlers.
REMINDER: Thursday November 6th, an opportunity not to be missed. Headington resident Tom Bedford will give a presentation on ‘Birds of Lye Valley and Beyond’, including migration patterns over the area, caring for our garden birds in winter, and tips on creating good photographs. Sunday 7th December Craft Event in the Meeting room at 11.15am
Several very kind people have offered to show us their work eg Wooden pens and crocheted gifts will be available as will earrings, candles, berets and gifts previously available at our Christmas sale, and sell some of it to help support HTHQ. There will be tables at the back of the church and in the meeting room after church on that day, so please support them during coffee. Cash or card accepted.
This week’s Eco Tip
If wires are poking through the fabric of your electric blanket, if the cord is damaged, if there are scorch marks or water marks, if the control buttons make a buzzing sound when switched on and/or it is giving off a smell, if the connector fitted to the blanket is damaged or over-heating, don’t use it! Electric Blankets should be replaced every 10 years and tested every 2 years by a qualified electrician.
