Posada 2025

What is Posada all about? During the evenings leading up to Christmas Day, a nativity set of Mary and Joseph travel around the parish, visiting a different member of our church family every night. This provides a great opportunity to meet new church members, or get to know others a little better as you transport Mary and Joseph to the next home on the rota. There is a prayer to say as you welcome them into your home and as you set them off on their journey to the next one.
If you would like to offer Mary and Joseph a home for the night this Advent, please contact Helen Dancer at helen@nsolve.com or phone: 07854173016 (text/WhatsApp probably best), giving me suitable dates and I add you to the rota. I have also given Helen Day access to the rota, so you can contact her in the office to take part. I will have the rota with me in church, so catch me after the service to sign up. I hope there will be room in your inn this year! Helen Dancer

Several very kind people have offered to show us their work eg Wooden pens and crocheted gifts will be available as will earrings, candles, berets and gifts previously available at our Christmas sale, and sell some of it to help support HTHQ. There will be tables at the back of the church and in the meeting room after church on that day, so please support them during coffee. Cash or card accepted.

This week’s Eco Tip

Little energy-saving habits add up: cooking with the saucepan lid on reduces the energy consumed by half. A microwave uses much less energy than an oven; today’s ovens heat up fast; ignore what recipes say about turning on the oven long before it’s needed. Correspondingly, turn the oven off just before the cooking end-time, leaving the cooking to finish in the oven. On removing the cooking, leave the oven door open- free heating for the kitchen!
