Our thanks to all those stepping down after years of service, in particular our two Churchwardens Margaret Taylor and Linda Davies and for those who have just joined the PCC and our two new Churchwardens.

New filter Coffee and Tea

If you are able to it would help the church funds if you could donate to the refreshment fund each week by either putting money in the jar or by using the card machine. Thank you.

Kitty Datta’s funeral will be held here in Church on Monday June 1st at 3pm. All are welcome to come to the service to remember a much loved member of our 10am services who has been housebound for a number of years.

The Venerable Dr Alex Hughes, a former Curate here at Holy Trinity from 2000- 2003, and who is still remembered by those who were worshipping here then is currently Archdeacon of Cambridge in the Diocese of Ely, but will be consecrated in July as the Suffragan Bishop of Brixworth before taking up his role in the Diocese of Peterborough in the autumn. Our warmest congratulations to Alex and our prayers go with him, Sarah his wife and sons.

Risinghurst and Sandhills Community Fete Sunday 7th June 1.30-6pm

It would be so good to have a presence at this Community fete since it is in our parish. I am looking for someone, or a group to organise a stall  predominately for children, with a few games, colouring  crafts anything that interest a child. It will promote our church and maybe encourage people to come along and see what we are about. I have tried many times to get a stall there, so maybe this is the year. Martin will hopefully be entertaining us at some time that afternoon. There are lots of other stalls, a magic show for children, other entertainment and the much looked forward to races for kids and Tug of War for adults. It is a real community event and I would encourage us to get involved as part of the parish.

This week’s Eco Tip

A reminder about loose-leaf tea. Tea bags can be handy, but unless you use certain brands, you are subjecting yourself to massive amounts of microplastics released on contact with the hot water. Instead, try a tea infuser for single cups or a tea pot with a special section for the tea leaves. Added bonus, tea leaves are a great addition to your compost heap, providing twice as much nitrogen as coffee grounds. Hilary Rollin (Eco Church Group)
