Harvest Festival flowers
The Flower Team are in urgent need of donations to the flower fund for next week’s Harvest Festival on 27th September. Please ring Margaret Woodcock 01865 761588 if you’d like to donate. Also if anyone has spare apples/veg that could be used to decorate the church this would be very much appreciated too and can be dropped off and left at the back of church in bags by NEXT THURSDAY 24th. Macmillan Coffee Morning
The annual coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care is on this Friday September 25th. I shall be holding a coffee morning and Bring and Buy sale that morning between 10 am and 12 pm at 3 Barton Road, Headington, OX3 9JB. Please come and support this excellent cause. – Sheila Allcock.
Conversation in aid of The Archway Foundation
Archway is a local charity working to help create human connection and reduce isolation in Oxfordshire. On Wednesday 23rd September Prof. Lord (Lionel) Tarassenko will be in conversation with Archway’s CEO, Angelo Fernandes, at Reuben College, Parks Road, OX1 3QP, from 7-9pm; they will be discussing how best to navigate simple human connection in an increasingly AI-driven age. Tickets are £10 (available from www.archwayfoundation.org.uk) and all proceeds will go towards Archway’s work in building human connections in our local communities. Please come if you can, to support this worthy cause; all are welcome.
Justyna Zanko Solo Violin Concert, Thu 24 September, 7pm
Following her dazzling recital last year, Polish violin virtuoso Justyna is returning to HTHQ. She will be performing J.S. Bach’s Partita in D minor BWV 1004, and Prokofiev’s Sonata for Solo Violin in D major, Op. 115. £10 suggested donation on the door, split between the performer and the church. Includes soft drinks after the performance.
Readers and Intercessors at 10am Sunday Eucharist : Group meetings

The first ‘training’ sessions for aspiring, new and established readers and intercessors will take place on Wednesday 30 September.
The afternoon and evening sessions will be covering the same ground and you are welcome to attend either. Please sign the lists at the back of church to indicate which time suits you better.
This time, we’ll be covering some general points and also using three short Bible passages to focus our discussion. I’ll send you the passages in advance.

Pilgrimage for the Planet
We would be delighted if you would join us for a pilgrimage walk around an area of Oxford to pray for our planet.
It starts outside Blackfriars Church in St. Giles, at 11am on 4th October stopping to pray outside Barclays Bank, the Catholic Chaplaincy, Christchurch Cathedral, Riverside near Folly Bridge, Edgar George Wilson Memorial, Osney Lock Hydro and finishing at St. Frideswide church at about 2.30pm.
