Poppies
Quarry WI have knitted hundreds of poppies to display both in our church and Corpus Christi for Remembrance Sunday. Some of these have been made into a lapel brooch and will be available for a donation to the British Legion in church on the run up to November 11th. There are also some white ones (pacifists) and some purple ones (these have a loop on them, maybe to attach to a dog collar or harness for remembering the animals that perished as well).
Coffee at The Coach House
The next coffee and cake morning will be on Friday 6th November from 10.30- 12.30pm. This is run by Quarry WI, but supported by the Church, Local Councillors and Headington in Action. It is free, so come along and have a chat and a slice of homemade cake. All are welcome. Contact Margaret Taylor for further info.

Thank you
Home groups
You may not know that there are groups associated with Holy Trinity which meet regularly in parishioners’ homes. They can vary in how they meet and what they do, but usually time is spent in Bible study, prayer and chatting over a cuppa. Meeting regularly can help us get to know each other in a deeper way than we might do just meeting on a Sunday, and we can inspire and encourage one another. If you are interested in joining a group please contact the parish office.

Imagine Lewis Quotations needed!
As part of Imagine Lewis, Mandy Patterson is leading an Art and Worship workshop in the church from 10-12am on Saturday 21 November. This will be a drop in event but it will be designed for you to set aside time to create and contemplate. Mandy is compiling an album of Lewis quotations, scans of paintings and drawings and poetry that we can all contribute to. If you have never done anything like this before do feel free to come. There will be materials provided and space to just mess about and enjoy the company of God in quietness. Mandy asks the congregation to please supply her with your favourite quotations from any of Lewis’ work whether comforting, challenging, inspiring or just amusing. Please send your quotes to mandypatterson@btinternet.com
Building Form Foundations Appeal
Thank you so much to everyone who has generously donated and/or pledged already towards repairing our leaking roof and repayment of the building loan. There is still time to donate! Please pick up a form from the back of church and make sure you use the reference: ‘Building 2026 appeal.’
This week’s Eco Tip
Fashion companies like synthetic fibres for their lower cost and being ideal for sports and swimwear. But the downside is that fragments break off with use, enter the water cycle and the air we breathe, even being found in the snow on Mount Everest. Meanwhile, the presence of microplastics in the human body has been linked to various serious health issues. Choose natural fibres if you can. Hilary Rollin (Eco Church Group)
