Wednesday 10am Midweek Communion
Final 8am service
The weekly 8am Book of Common Prayer Communion service has been under review for several months now, in the light of low attendance and shortage of available clergy. After much discussion and reflection, the decision was made by the PCC that this service will come to an end. This decision is taken with some sadness; however our hope is that between the 10am service, the quieter Wednesday Communion as well as a regular monthly evening service, we provide a good range of worship options. Moreover, we also hope that increased capacity will enable new and different forms of worship to emerge. The final 8am service takes place today Sunday 11th October to give thanks for all it has meant to us, and to look to the future.
Sue Saville
It was with great sadness that at the 10am Eucharist service last week it was announced that Sue had died peacefully at home on Saturday 3rd October. She was a much loved and respected member of our church community and will be very much missed. Her funeral is at Holy Trinity on Friday 30th October at 2pm.

Home groups
You may not know that there are groups associated with Holy Trinity which meet regularly in parishioners’ homes. They can vary in how they meet and what they do, but usually time is spent in Bible study, prayer and chatting over a cuppa. Meeting regularly can help us get to know each other in a deeper way than we might do just meeting on a Sunday, and we can inspire and encourage one another. If you are interested in joining a group please contact the parish office.

Imagine Lewis Quotations needed!
As part of Imagine Lewis, Mandy Patterson is leading an Art and Worship workshop in the church from 10-12am on Saturday 21 November. This will be a drop in event but it will be designed for you to set aside time to create and contemplate. Mandy is compiling an album of Lewis quotations, scans of paintings and drawings and poetry that we can all contribute to. If you have never done anything like this before do feel free to come. There will be materials provided and space to just mess about and enjoy the company of God in quietness. Mandy asks the congregation to please supply her with your favourite quotations from any of Lewis’ work whether comforting, challenging, inspiring or just amusing. Please send your quotes to mandypatterson@btinternet.com
Imagine Lewis helpers needed! We have an excellent team that are spearheading our Imagine Lewis weekend, but we have need of a few extra helpers, specifically: to take posters around to community noticeboards, to assist with children’s activities, and to help man the bar for the Saturday evening gig. Please speak to Revd Martin vicar@hthq.uk

An update will be given during the morning services today. Thank you so much to everyone who has generously donated and/or pledged already towards repairing our leaking roof and repayment of the building loan. There is still time to donate! This week’s Eco Tip
There’s a lot of fun to be had from re-purposing or upcycling clothes and kit (e.g. making cushion covers from curtains that don’t fit your current windows; re-using the fabric from an adult skirt to make a child’s dress). But many brand new items in the shops are the result of recycling: bags made from plastic bottles, dresses ditto, and even…. furniture made from old washing machines. We should support these products.
