6pm All Souls Service
Midweek Services
9am Morning Prayer: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday when the Vicar is available. The Church is normally open for private prayer every day during daylight hours.
Wednesday 10am Midweek Communion
Final 8am service
The weekly 8am Book of Common Prayer Communion service has been under review for several months now, in the light of low attendance and shortage of available clergy. After much discussion and reflection, the decision was made by the PCC that this service will come to an end. This decision is taken with some sadness; however our hope is that between the 10am service, the quieter Wednesday Communion as well as a regular monthly evening service, we provide a good range of worship options. Moreover, we also hope that increased capacity will enable new and different forms of worship to emerge.
All Souls Service on November 1st at 6pm
If anyone would like to have a name read out in the service please write it down on the list at the back of church or email Helen with the name office@hthq.uk no later than 6pm on Monday 26th October. Thank you.
Sue Saville’s funeral is at Holy Trinity next Friday 30th October at 2pm. All are welcome but please arrive in good time as the church will be full. The family invite everyone for refreshments in the Village Hall after the service.
Curate for HTHQ!
Heather Moger, currently an Ordinand at Cuddesdon, will be licensed as our curate in July 2027. Heather sends his warm greetings to all at HTHQ, and has written a short piece introducing herself – this will be in the next edition of the Trinity Times.
Please note the Parish Office is closed and will reopen on Monday November 2nd at 9am.
Poppies
Quarry WI have knitted hundreds of poppies to display both in our church and Corpus Christi for Remembrance Sunday. Some of these have been made into a lapel brooch and will be available for a donation to the British Legion in church on the run up to November 11th. There are also some white ones (pacifists) and some purple ones (these have a loop on them, maybe to attach to a dog collar or harness for remembering the animals that perished as well).
Coffee at The Coach House
The next coffee and cake morning will be on Friday 6th November from 10.30- 12.30pm. This is run by Quarry WI, but supported by the Church, Local Councillors and Headington in Action. It is free, so come along and have a chat and a slice of homemade cake. All are welcome. Contact Margaret Taylor for further info.
Headington Quarry Village Hall is having a Christmas Craft Market on Sunday 1st November 11am till 5pm, please come and have some festive fun. There will be entertainment during the day but there’s a slot still available if anyone wants to perform. Please contact eventshqvh@gmail.com for more information.

Can you help?
HTHQ are hosting Cowley Deanery Synod on November 10th 7-9.30pm in church. Margaret Taylor is taking the lead but will need a couple of volunteers on the night to help serve refreshments and light finger food for approx. 50 people etc. Please can you sign up to help provide the light finger food at the back of church and/ or let Helen in the Parish Office or Margaret know if you can help. Thank you
Home groups
You may not know that there are groups associated with Holy Trinity which meet regularly in parishioners’ homes. They can vary in how they meet and what they do, but usually time is spent in Bible study, prayer and chatting over a cuppa. Meeting regularly can help us get to know each other in a deeper way than we might do just meeting on a Sunday, and we can inspire and encourage one another. If you are interested in joining a group please contact the parish office.

Imagine Lewis Quotations needed!
As part of Imagine Lewis, Mandy Patterson is leading an Art and Worship workshop in the church from 10-12am on Saturday 21 November. This will be a drop in event but it will be designed for you to set aside time to create and contemplate. Mandy is compiling an album of Lewis quotations, scans of paintings and drawings and poetry that we can all contribute to. If you have never done anything like this before do feel free to come. There will be materials provided and space to just mess about and enjoy the company of God in quietness. Mandy asks the congregation to please supply her with your favourite quotations from any of Lewis’ work whether comforting, challenging, inspiring or just amusing. Please send your quotes to mandypatterson@btinternet.com
Imagine Lewis helpers needed! We have an excellent team that are spearheading our Imagine Lewis weekend, but we have need of a few extra helpers, specifically: to take posters around to community noticeboards, to assist with children’s activities, and to help man the bar for the Saturday evening gig. Please speak to Revd Martin vicar@hthq.uk

This week’s Eco Tip
The end of Summer Time, with daylight fading fast, is a reminder of the changing seasons and the passage of time. Also a reminder that unlike our forebears, we are out of touch with the natural world. How can we become more aware of Nature’s rhythms? Hilary Rollin (Eco Church Group)
